    Neil Blake, PhD

    Global Head, Forecasting and Analytics, CBRE GWS Ltd

    Dr Blake is Global Head of Forecasting and Analytics at CBRE. His responsibilities include developing CBRE’s globally consistent economic and real estate view. He also leads on the development of CBRE’s real estate performance outlook in EMEA as well as being closely involved with the co-ordination of CBRE’s view on global real estate investment performance. An economist by background, with over 30 years’ experience in economic modelling and forecasting; Neil joined CBRE from Oxford Economics, the economic forecasting consultancy, in 2012. At Oxford Economics, he was Director of Economic Analysis and had primary responsibility for the analysis of international cities and regional services, commercial property, housing and retail markets, as well as global macroeconomic and financial sector analysis. Prior to joining Oxford Economics in 2008, Dr Blake was a founding director of Business Strategies Limited, which became part of Experian in 2002 Neil has extensive knowledge of economic modelling and forecasting particularly with regards to real estate related applications. These include modelling international property returns for leading investors, assessing the property market impact of a Eurozone breakup, work for the Barker Review on the economic effects of restrictions on housing supply, work for the European Commission on the cause of bubbles in the housing market, the RICS City Office Model, “How Much Space?” and “Retail Voids” for the BCSC and the IPF Research Foundation’s project on “Property and Inflation”, interest rates in the long-term and the impact on property pricing, contributing to the development of an investment strategy for major investors as well as modelling the link between economic development and the demand for commercial and residential space in the Middle East. Neil is a member of a number of industry bodies and a frequent speaker at industry events as well as being a regular media spokesman for CBRE.

    Mathieu Giguere, as Director for Key Accounts & New Business Development is responsible for acquiring new business and markets in light of the dynamic growth in online trade in Europe. Immediately prior to joining Panattoni, he served as Director of Real Estate Management at WeWork, with responsibility for the company’s expansion in the Central European markets. In 2014, he joined Amazon, where he stayed for four years. As Senior Manager /Head of Real Estate, he was responsible for the expansion and management of Amazon’s real estate portfolio in three different regions CEE, SEU and MENA. During his time at Amazon, Mathieu completed more than 25 transactions in 10 countries, totalling over 1.5 million square meters of logistic/fulfillment space and completed 11 BTS projects in Continental Europe with a total value in excess of EUR 1 billion.

Professionally he is a member of The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (Valuation & Estate Agents Chapter) and a Registered Estate Agent. Dr. Wentzel is currently CEO of Tsebo International a pan-African services company operating across 21 countries. He has previously held c-suite positions for various public and private sector companies. He has board level experience in both executive and non-executive positions for private and public sector companies. Dr. Wentzel continues to pursue an active academic career as his way of sharing his expertise and helping the next generation of business leaders to grow. He teaches on the MBA program at one of the leading business school in Africa, is a fellow at its Centre for African Markets & Marketing, serves as a supervisor for Ph.D. and Masters level students and acts as an external examiner in the business and engineering faculties at the University of Pretoria. He is a highly regarded expert on doing business in emerging markets as well as regular conference speaker and published academic in this field.
